Red Poinsettias


  • Poinsettias are popular at Christmas. In Mexico and Guatemala they are called Noche Buena.

  • Poinsettias are usually red, but they can also be pink, white, pale green, orange, and cream.

  • Poinsettias grow wild in Mexico and Central America.




  • Daisies have long narrow petals and leafless stems.

  • The flowers close at night and open in the morning.

  • Daisy is a popular name for girls and women.


Purple Violets


  • Violets are usually purple, but pink ones are also common.

  • Violets have heart-shaped petals.

  • They bloom from spring to summer.
