Portland Head Light
Portland Head Light Station is located in Cape Elizabeth. It's one of the most photographed lighthouses in the U.S.A.
George Washington requested that the lighthouse be built. It was completed in 1791 and was made from stones that were found in the area. It was the first lighthouse completed by the federal government under the Lighthouse Act of 1789.
