National Parks Lessons

National Parks are protected area that are managed by the U.S. Park Service. There are 58 National Parks in the United States. People can visit the parks, but they must pay a fee and obey the park's rules.

Grand Canyon - The Grand Canyon Natural Park is located in Arizona. It was declared a national park in 1919. The Grand Canyon is featured on an America the Beautiful Quarter.

Joshua Tree - Joshua Tree National Park is located in southwestern California. It is part of the Mojave and Colorado Deserts. It became a national park in 1994.

National Parks Lesson - National parks preserve nature for future generations. It is illegal to cut down trees or hunt animals in natural parks.
