ESL Lesson - Envelopes and Addresses

We use envelopes to send letters. We write the mailing address and the return address on the front of the envelope. After we write the addresses, we put a stamp in the upper right corner of the envelope. (3 pages)

  • The mailing address is near the center of the envelope.

  • The return address is in the upper left corner.

  • The stamp is in the upper right corner.

  • This letter is going to Maywood, Illinois. Maywood is the city and Illinois is the state.

  • This letter is being sent from Chicago, Illinois. Illinois is abbreviated IL.
