Containers hold things. Many containers have a lid. Containers can be made from glass, metal, cardboard, wire, or plastic. This lesson shows bottles, jars, cartons, bowls, cans, boxes, barrels and other types of containers. (3 pages)



  • Bottles are made from glass.

  • Bottles are tall and narrow.

  • This is a bottle of ketchup.




  • This is a jar.

  • Jars are made from glass.

  • Jars have lids. Lids screw onto the top of the jar.

  • This is a jar of pickles.
