San Francisco is the fourth most populated city in California. About 744,000 people live in San Francisco. It is located in the northern part of the state, on the tip of the San Francisco Peninsula. The Pacific Ocean is to the west and the San Francisco Bay is to the east. San Francisco is nicknamed the City by the Bay. It is famous for hilly streets, cable cars, earthquakes, foggy weather, the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island, and Chinatown. (3 pages)
