We often describe people by their age and gender. We use words like: infant, baby, toddler, child, boy, girl, teenager, man, woman, and senior citizen. (3 pages)

Infant or Baby


  • An infant is a new baby.

  • Infants cannot sit, walk, or talk.

  • This infant is two weeks old.




  • Toddlers are between one and a half years old and three years old.

  • A child that is learning to walk is a toddler.

  • This toddler is taking a bath.
